El Dr. Rafael Emilio Barrios Malavé. Alcalde Bolivariano del Municipio Montes, en su afán por lograr el desarrollo, fortalecimiento y despegue definitivo de esta región, agradeció públicamente la manera como la Dirección Operativa de Comercialización y Distribución Sucre – Anzoátegui de la Empresa CORPOELEC, atendió el Proyecto de Inversión y los requerimientos planteados por su administración en la búsqueda de la mejora, instalación y puesta en funcionamiento del Transformador de Alta Potencia de 10 MVA en la Subestación de Cumanacoa, el cual vendría a resolver el déficit en materia eléctrica en esta jurisdicción, producto del crecimiento poblacional y medios de producción locales, ya que desde esta empresa no se habían tomado las medidas correspondientes y previsiones necesarias para atacar esta problemática, la cual se constituye en un servicio básico e indispensable para el normal desenvolvimiento de toda la población, viejo anhelo en esta aspiración, que hoy vemos materializada con su puesta en funcionamiento.
Igualmente, con la finalidad de ofrecer mayor capacidad de energía en el fluido eléctrico, mayor capacidad de maniobra, realizar de manera eficaz los trabajos de mantenimientos de redes en los servicios, y mejorar los niveles de tensión eléctrica, el pasado sábado se puso en funcionamiento el Transformador de Alta potencia de 10 MVA, en la sub estación de Cumanacoa, municipio Montes del estado sucre. Así lo declaró. El Ingeniero. Omer Monasterio. Jefe de la División de Transmisión a nivel Oriental encargado de la instalación y aumento de capacidad de todos los transformadores en las distintas subestaciones del hemisferio oriental de la empresa CORPOELEC, igualmente dijo, que esta inversión tiene un costo aproximado de 600 mil dólares incluyendo equipamientos de potencia, equipamientos primarios, interruptores, seccionadores, entre otros requerimientos, que se utilizaron para su instalación y puesta en funcionamiento integrado por aproximadamente 36 profesionales que forman parte del equipo técnico de la empresa.
Por otro lado en referencia a la subestación de Cumanacoa, el ingeniero Monasterio. Manifestó, que la puesta en funcionamiento de este transformador le garantiza a las comunidades del municipio Montes, la continuidad ininterrumpida del servicio eléctrico las 24 horas del día, para lo cual, se hace necesario el uso racional debido a que la fuente principal de mayor capacidad y la propia planta generadora como la del Gurí se encuentran en su tope máximo.
